Easy and Amazing Sound Sep 03, 2010 I had heard great things about the Duet but was hesitant to buy it. I knew that it was designed to work with Garageband and Logic. I use Reason and Record and I thought it would be a nightmare to get all the pieces working together. Finally after talking to a bunch of friends and a lot of hand-holding from a sales person I took the plunge. And it could not have been simpler. It fired up the first time with virtually no issues at all. It automatically mapped everything. Just a few quick settings in record and off to the races. The whole install took 15 minutes. I am so happy with the sound quality. The AD/DA's are as good as people say. The single controller takes a little getting used to. It is like the audio version of BMW's I Drive controller without the bugs. Really it works very well as long as you watch the on screen icons to see what you are adjusting. As an additional benefit, Itunes really cranks with this baby as a sound card. I have a home studio for voice overs and so I really have no need for more than two in or two out. If you are sure that will work for you the Duet is a great solution. If you need room to expand then you probably have to look elsewhere. I can only speak to my experience but I would definitely buy this again.
Pure Sound Everywhere Apr 20, 2010 Just want to say that for this two years i've used the apogge duet, there are only good stories to tell about it. Audio quality in this little box it's unbelievable, it's incredible, it's Apogee.
love it! Apr 14, 2010 I have tried quite a few audio input devices and this is the one I'm sticking with. I needed something simple, and yet with professional quality and this is it. I am able to do all of my studio work easily and efficiently without using up much of my needed desk space. The design of the unit is also very nice, simple and effective. I highly suggest this product
Great Product Mar 27, 2010 I carefully researched all the "affordable" audio interfaces and this product consistently outperformed any others in its price range $500 and even higher! Also, it was designed just for the Mac, so I decided to go with it. I was happy with my decision. It was easy to set up and use. I could hear an audible improvement over my last audio interface. Everything was a bit clearer as if I had something over my ears before and I finally took it off!
If you have a studio in which you don't need to record more than 2 channels at a time and a Mac, and you want professional A/D and D/A converters, then this is your product!

Great unit Mar 25, 2010 I bought this unit for recording which it does really well, but I was not expecting the huge leap in sound quality when you hook it up as your system output. The quality of this versus the computer sound card is quite amazing.
I've been using the unit for three months now, everyday, and it works perfectly. I particularly like the phantom power for XLR mics and the unit being powered through the firewire. I was worried the single knob might be a problem to control both inputs and the output, but I got used to it very quickly and don't even think about it now.
I put up a few pictures and longer review at [...]
