I just got the MLX 990/991 set and my 990 needed a shockmount and this is the only one that I could find that would for sure be big enough for it. It is bigger than other condensor mics and I didnt want to take a chance and get a mount that was too small so I went for this one and it is great. It fits it perfectly and it feels snug and secure even when moving my stand around. Absolutely would recommend it to anyone with a MLX 990 or 770

I have used this shock mount for my condenser microphone when I record for about 4 years now. It is a quality piece of hardware that lasts for a long time. It is easy to install and easy to adjust, and it holds the microphone securely and does it's job. There is only one minor problem: You have to tighten it higher than you want it because when you put the mic in the assembly will fall slightly. But that is a minor complaint for a low-cost shock mount. Recommended for project studios on a budget.

Not much to say about it; this is a shock mount that shields your MXL990 microphone against vibrations in whatever surface your mic stand is resting on. This is essential if you're using a desktop stand -- the vibration noise from your computer's fan and hard drive will instantly disappear once you set this thing up. My only complaint is with the elastic bands that hold microphone in place: they're a little persnickity, and tend to come loose from their hooks a bit too easily.

This is a good shock mount, a perfect fit for the mxl990, and reasonably priced. I'd use it all the time, if I ever used the MXL-990.
