Description

The Stedman Proscreen 101 uses the same unique patented metal screen as the PS100. The Proscreen 101 has an attached 13 inch flexible goose neck with adjustable clamp. This clamp allows the PS101 to be attached to any microphone stand or boom while allowing easy positioning of the screen with the flexible goose neck. Like the PS100, the Stedman Proscreen 101 can be cleaned with detergent and hot water and will outperform and outlast fabric filter designs. Includes a lifetime warranty. Made in U.S.A.

5Incredible  Dec 22, 2010 By Al B.
This is the pop filter of all pop filters... It moves the air down and away from the microphone. I was in guitar center and one of the guys in pro audio pointed it out to me. He took a lighter and lit it behind the filter while blowing on the pop filter from the front side. THE FLAME NEVER WENT OUT! THAT'S AMAZING! Other pop filters CAN'T do it, the air or the (P's & B's) still are able to reach the diaphragm. It's a must buy for any studio, any size... GET IT!!!

5Great Pop Filter!  May 11, 2011 By Rabbanah
This pop-filter is definitely worth the money! It does a fantastic job at preventing your percussive singing from making spikes in your recordings. It use the metal grate to shunt your to the side or scatter it. It works great and is built to last. I highly recommend!

4Best pop filter in the universe (with a proviso)  Jun 24, 2011 By Wayne Zeitner
I bought the Stedman PS101 to take into an author's home where I was recording him reading his latest book. He was very close to the Stedman and was "aiming" all his plosives right at the screen. I didn't hear a SINGLE "pop" during the 10-hour session. When I got home to edit, using my Ultrasone Pro 750 headphones, I actually detected a very, v-e-r-y, V-E-R-Y low-frequency "pop" that could only be classified as sub-sonic. I ran a 40Hz High-Pass filter on it and the passage sounded perfectly normal. If I'd been using a normal nylon "spit-catcher", this would've resulted in a blown take--indeed, I've been in audiobook sessions where the "standard" pop-filters is useless and the session becomes a long, drawn-out, frustrating ordeal. Thank God for this low-tech wonder!

Oh, and did I mention this thing is washable? So it can be re-used many times...making it an every better value. It would've been a dream-come-true if the screen were detachable from the gooseneck, allowing me to totally submerge it for washing. But it's no hardship to wash as-is.

The only shortcoming--literally--about the PS101 is the length of the gooseneck. You can only orient the pop-screen "upright", allowing the metal louvres to deflect the air downward. This limits the options for where you'll mount the filter. In some setups where you'd want to mount it ABOVE the mic and lean it down, the airflow would actually direct plosive into the mic. I actually did mount it above, but had to put a very sharp bend in the gooseneck to make sure it was oriented properly. Didn't seem to do any permanent damage to the gooseneck, but I didn't like forcing such a sharp bend. We'll see how often I need to do that.

4It's Helpful  Mar 15, 2011 By Michael R. Carr II
This is very helpful and value priced but I wouldn't go so far to say it's the holy grail! Several reviews I read of this piece said that someone held up a light and blew air through it and the lighter stayed lit... Yea... don't expect that to happen, but it will cut down on some ugly p's and t's when recording!
