Smart, Informative and Straightforward Jan 30, 2010
By Steven Cubbage
"Pirate 83"
This book covers the basics of running a small business better than any I've seen or read. It simply cuts to the chase and identifies resources that can actually help instead of filling pages with philosophy!
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone starting out or even seasoned small business professionals.

Met my expectation Feb 20, 2012
By Love Good Books From a small business owner's perspective, I was just looking for a complete overview (not an MBA) of what I might be getting myself into with a small business. The author does a good job of pooling information from a number of various resources, business owners from all types of businesses, etc... so that you get a number of perspectives from retail, services, healthcare, and so on. If you're going to start a small business or if you already own a small business, this book is a nice checklist to assess your current situation and offers a nice backbone for creating your vision... because business have to be started twice, first in your mind, and then in real life.
Very informative. Apr 04, 2012
By E. M. If you are going into business this is a must read.
There is loads of valuable information even if you aren't starting your own business. It is not a fantasy page turner -- obviously, but if you want the business fundamentals then you have to check this book out.

Just OK Feb 06, 2011
By Julie Smith This book was just OK. I breezed through it in an afternoon but I was looking for something a little more in-depth. It's OK if all you are looking for is a high-level overview. I expect more from a book titled "Complete" especially from WSJ.
Small Business Startup Guide Apr 03, 2010
By David J. Lytle I read this book and felt more comfortable about starting a small business. The book is informative about the many tasks that one needs to pay attention to. The book gave me several ideas and helped me determine where I need to concentrate my efforts. For the price this book is an excellent resource for starting a business and I would highly recommend it.
