3Great boom, lousy pivot  May 09, 2011 By John S. Gray
I had high hopes for the MC125 when I bought it. It was OK at first, no complaints. But after the first year of intermittent use, the pivot point between the upright pole and the boom became less and less reliable. As the one tightening thumbscrew is responsible for BOTH the boom angle and the back-and-forth sliding of the boom for counterweight balance, this problem just got worse and worse.

It should be better engineered. A perfectly good heavy-duty stand is ready for landfill because of the little plastic fitting. Check out the serious fitting in that position on the Atlas SB32: that will not develop the problem.

5Nice Stand  May 16, 2008 By Lief Stevens
Not a lot of reviews for this stand out there so I thought I would share my impressions. I bought this stand to use on a live set for a TV/Radio show. I needed a stand that could support Sm7s and RE20s with a boom arm long enough stay out of shot. This stand fits my needs perfectly. It is built like a tank and weighs a ton. The casters are high quality and are lockable. Unlike most studio boom stands you can adjust the length of the boom arm. This is a serious stand and should last a long time. Just ordered another one.
